The "MR. SINGH AND MS. KAUR event was organised by AYUR Beauty Products at capitalon the eve of Basakhi, began with "WAHEGURU JI DA KHALSA, WAHEGURU JI DI FATEH.

It was a beauty pageant with a difference. Young Sikh men and women were eligible to contest only on condition that they had never cut their hair.

A step by the community to stem a worring trend among youngsters to chop off their hairs.

And the contestants were ranging srom students, businesmen, air hostesses and Police Officers.

All had undergone weeks prior training on Punjabi Language, Sikh History and culture in addition to ramp walking, Bhangra.

It was a remarkable step, but it seems that this event should have been advertised in a big way, so that more more and people should have become part of it.
